The visual direction of this project is based on a red and black, monochromatic palette, directly referencing the style of the song's corresponding album, Ruby.
The edit was structured around the song's rhythmic structure. Colour-coded markers were placed throughout the timeline to map out percussive hits and lyrical cues, allowing every cut and motion to line up precisely with the beat.
A custom 3D Jennie wordmark built from her existing stylized Korean logo was rendered in After Effects.
For the dance break sequence. I recreated a triangular group formation by arranging six dancers in 3D space, animating the camera to mimic live K-pop stage cinematography. The shifting focal points and sharp camera movements were designed to honour the iconic amapiano dance break that fans recognize and love.
This project gave me a better understanding of the workflow of concert graphics: balancing camera work, choreography, typography, and music into a cohesive visual experience that matches the song.
It strengthened my technical skills in rotoscoping, native 3D rendering within After Effects, and audio-synchronized editing.
The process highlighted the importance of designing from the fan (user's) perspective, authentically capturing performance energy, emphasizing musical impact, and ensuring every motion choice supports the track with intention.
